Will I have to drive too much in Sacramento area if I become a language interpreter?

I applied for an interpreter's job recently. They told me that I will be driving throughout Sacramento, CA. I really don't like to drive much but I desperately need a job. I just had an accident 5 months ago. I'm still scared since there are many crazy drivers in Sac City. Will they make me drive too much? What should I do in order to keep myself safe?
