What is NCFE Level 3 diploma is equivalent to?

Anyone knows the answer? I would be doing a childcare course and home learning seems the best option as I have to work to support myself. Dont want to spend money on this if its not recognised by any employers or families who would need qualified childcare. They say on the home learning website that it is equivalent to NVQ Level 3 which sound pretty serious to me but am afraid it isnt actually true...?
